MORE EFFICIENT. LONGER LASTING. BETTER LOOKING.
The one-of-a-kind precast modular block (PMB) you’ll use to build beautiful and enduring walls for homes, developments, parks, and shorelines.
EXPERTLY ENGINEERED PMB
[1] Hollow Core: A void in the block to simplify installation and host either geogrid reinforcement or gravel to add strength.
[2] Lifting Hook: Cured in concrete for light machinery like mini-excavators and skid steers to move with ease.
[3] Geogrid Indent: For reinforced walls, prevents grid from being crushed by the next course (row) of block.
[4] Knobs: Protrusions on top of block that interact with groove to lock blocks in place.
[5] Texture Face: Three face styles with texture depth up to 5 in (127 mm) for a straight-from-the-quarry look.
[6] Groove: Channel on underside of block that interacts with knob to lock blocks in place.
[7] Forklift Slots: Allows for convenient and secure loading and unloading and relocation on job sites.
REVOLUTIONARY AND EVOLUTIONARY
Novum Wall is the product of decades of earth retention technology research, development, testing, and real-world application. It’s a one-of-a-kind solution that’s simply better than alternatives.
Dialed-In Dimensions
Novum Wall’s standard block height (9 in [229 mm]) and weight (610 lb ± 30 lb [277 kg ± 13.6 kg]) were determined through rigorous research and project application study. Novum was created to provide big block wall performance with small block installation convenience.
Install Small
Novum Wall can be moved and installed with skid-steers or mini-excavators, making it ideal for tight installations often found in residential yards, commercial developments, inland lakeshores, and public parks.
Unique, Complementary Textures
Novum Wall’s Alpine, Ridge, and Summit textures were handcrafted to add particular pop to projects and complement several Redi-Rock faces. Novum Wall is the perfect choice for a smaller wall on a project site shared with Redi-Rock.
The Complete and Simple Solution
Novum Wall is a full suite of blocks engineered so you can create a wall specific to your project’s needs. With top blocks, corners, caps, and more, you’ll produce a complete project with no loose ends. Browse the Novum Wall Block Library to view each product.
TEXTURES AND COLORS
Novum Wall blocks are formed by pouring architectural-grade concrete into forms and curing over time. This wet casting process results in deep, realistic grooves and textures, allowing it to be crafted in three natural-looking faces: Alpine, Ridge, and Summit. Various colors are available regionally. Check with your local Novum Wall producer for specific texture and color availability.
Alpine – Rugged, weathered face reminiscent of European mountainscapes. The detail of Alpine’s stacked fieldstone look is an excellent fit for smaller-scale projects like residential walls.
Summit – A symmetrical arrangement creating a sense of order and balance, evoking the grand architectural traditions of bygone eras. Summit’s elegant, larger format texture makes it a wise choice for more involved installations like those in commercial spaces.
Ridge – Irregular edges and varying thickness suggest the organic, rustic face of rock formations shaped by time and the elements. Ridge is the balance of its sister textures, producing a multi-purpose relief and adding character to high-profile installations like shoreline walls and municipal parks.
STACKING UP TO ALTERNATIVES
Novum Wall really is in a class by itself. There’s truly nothing else in the world like it. The closest alternative might be a dry cast segmental retaining wall (SRW) solution. Here’s a quick breakdown of why Novum should be your choice.
Novum Wall
- Can be built up to 6 ft (1.8 m) tall without reinforcement. With reinforcement and the right site conditions, Novum mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls can be built to 21 ft (6.4 m) or more.
- Machine set with a small crew and easily mobilized subcompact equipment like skid-steers and mini-excavators to install more wall with fewer resources.
- Wet cast concrete composition reduces the blocks’ porosity and enhances its strength and durability. The wet cast forming method also allows for significantly more detailed textures.
Dry Cast SRW
- Can typically be built to only 4 ft (1.2 m) tall without reinforcement.
- Hand set, demanding larger crews and significantly more labor to install an equivalent face area.
- Dry cast’s increased porosity allows for moisture and chemicals to more easily enter the block, which can lead to its more rapid degradation.
